My only complaint is the coordination between text and otherwise excellent maps. The text will make references to locations|From Library Journal|Until now only three book-length studies of the bloody Tennessee battle near Stone's River existed, all old and none satisfactory by current historical standards. This important book covers the late 1862 campaign and battle in detail. Though

Traces the chain of events as the Army of the Cumberland and the Army of Tennessee meet in Middle Tennessee on New Year's Eve 1982 in one of the bloodiest encounters of the Civil War.
